Philips Espresso Machines

4 models · Updated · Netherlands · Founded 1891

Philips sells fully automatic bean-to-cup machines built around two things: 100% ceramic flat burrs rated by Philips for at least 20,000 cups, and LatteGo — a milk carafe with two parts and no tubes that rinses in about fifteen seconds. Every US series uses a 15 bar pump, a 1.8 litre tank, a 275 g bean hopper and a removable brew group the owner rinses under the tap. The series number is a drink count, not a hardware tier: a 2200 makes three drinks, a 5400 makes twelve, on largely the same brewing hardware. Philips machines are designed in Italy and made in Romania.

US warranty

Philips publishes a two-year guarantee on its espresso machine leaflets.

Service & parts

Philips supports the range with AquaClean filters, guided descaling and per-model support pages; AquaClean is rated for up to 5,000 cups between descales.

Repairability

The removable brew group is the key serviceability feature — it comes out for rinsing without tools. LatteGo has two dishwasher-safe parts and no internal milk tubing to clog.

Frequently asked

Where are Philips espresso machines made?
Philips models in our database list Romania as the country of production on the manufacturer's own specification.
What is the cheapest Philips espresso machine?
Philips does not publish list prices for the models we track on its US product pages, so we do not state one.
Do Philips machines need descaling?
Yes — every espresso machine that heats water does. Use the manufacturer's approved descaling solution every one to three months depending on your water hardness. Scale is what ends most machines, not use.
Are Philips machines repairable?
The removable brew group is the key serviceability feature — it comes out for rinsing without tools. LatteGo has two dishwasher-safe parts and no internal milk tubing to clog.
