The coffee grinder is clogged. Cause: The coffee outlet duct is clogged.

Oily or damp beans caking in the chute

What to do

1. Remove the power cord and remove the brew group.
2. Clean the coffee outlet duct thoroughly using a spoon handle.
3. Switch the appliance back on again.
4. On Cadorna/Velasca models Gaggia additionally advises: remove all beans from the grinder, set the grinder to the coarsest setting, vacuum the hopper and chute, add dry beans and pull 2-3 shots, then adjust the grind one setting at a time, brewing a shot between each adjustment.

When to stop and call a technician

The machine trips a breaker, smells of burning, or shows scorched wiring.
Water is leaking from inside the chassis rather than from the tank, tray or portafilter.
