01 — Coffee grinder clogged
What the machine is reporting
The coffee grinder is clogged. Cause: The coffee outlet duct is clogged.
Likely causes, most likely first
- Coffee outlet duct clogged with grounds
- Oily or damp beans caking in the chute
What to do
- 1. Remove the power cord and remove the brew group.
- 2. Clean the coffee outlet duct thoroughly using a spoon handle.
- 3. Switch the appliance back on again.
- 4. On Cadorna/Velasca models Gaggia additionally advises: remove all beans from the grinder, set the grinder to the coarsest setting, vacuum the hopper and chute, add dry beans and pull 2-3 shots, then adjust the grind one setting at a time, brewing a shot between each adjustment.
